The Best Grok Bot Plugins in 2026 (and How to Add Them)

By DoNotify Team • • 4 min read • 3 views

Grok Bot gets more useful with every app you connect. A Bot with your inbox and calendar can sort email and find a meeting slot. Add DoNotify and it can ring your phone when something cannot wait. Here are eight worth adding, and how to add them.

One of them, DoNotify, is ours.

The Grok Bot Marketplace vs Connect apps

Searching for Grok Bot plugins gets confusing because two different places get called the marketplace.

  • Connect apps is where you add apps like Gmail or Slack to your account. Your Bots then use them to work inside those tools.
  • The Grok Bot Marketplace at x.ai/bot/marketplace lists ready-made Bots, sorted into categories like Sales, Marketing and Engineering. There you add a Bot, not an app.

How to add a plugin to Grok Bot

  1. On a computer, open Connect apps in the sidebar. On your phone, tap your avatar at the top left and choose Connect apps.
  2. Search for the app and add it.
  3. Finish the sign-in or authorize step in your browser.
  4. Check that the app now shows under Installed.

Bots can also add an app when you ask, for example "Add the Linear app."

The plugins

1. DoNotify (ours)

Gives a Bot one action: ring your phone and read a short message out loud. Use it for the alerts a push notification lets you sleep through, like a bank alert or a reply you have been waiting on. Today, calls go to the number on your own account, and they work on landlines. Calls to businesses, with DoNotify holding the conversation, are coming soon. DoNotify is not in Connect apps yet. You add it by giving your Bot our skill file and an API token, which takes a few minutes. The steps are on the AI agents page, and 14 calls are free. Best for: Bots that watch for something that cannot wait. More in can Grok Bot make phone calls.

2. Gmail

Lets a Bot search, read and draft email. An inbox Bot needs it to sort the morning's mail and flag what needs you. Best for: getting your inbox handled before you open it.

3. Google Calendar

Your Bot can check your schedule, find free time, and create or move events. Paired with Gmail, it can draft the reply to a "does Tuesday work?" email. Best for: people who lose hours to scheduling back and forth.

4. Slack

Read channels, search old threads and post messages. Good for a Bot that tells you what you missed overnight. Best for: teams that live in Slack.

5. Notion

Search and update pages and databases, so a Bot can keep a project tracker or meeting notes current without you copying things across. Best for: teams that plan in Notion.

6. Google Drive and Google Sheets

Find files, read documents and work in spreadsheets. Handy for Bots that build a weekly report or update a tracker from other sources. Best for: any job that ends in a spreadsheet.

7. 1Password

Connect it under Password Managers in Connect apps, so a Bot can use your saved logins when it has to sign in somewhere. x.ai's docs say never to paste a password into chat, and this is how you avoid it. Best for: Bots that work on sites with no app connector.

8. Linear

Create and update issues. It is the example x.ai uses in its own docs for adding an app. Best for: product and engineering teams.

Can't find the app you need?

A Bot can add an MCP server that is not in the catalog, by URL or by a command it runs on its own computer. A server on a private network asks for your approval first. Composio offers one MCP connection that covers many apps at once. For a wider list of community-built plugins, grokbot.dev keeps a directory. It is independent and not run by xAI.

How to choose

  • Start with what one job needs. An inbox Bot needs Gmail and maybe Calendar, not ten connectors.
  • Every app gives your Bots access to an account, so check what you have connected. A teammate's shared Bot asks before it uses your accounts.
  • Decide how the Bot should reach you. Push notifications cover most things. If they are not arriving, see Grok Bot notifications not working. For the rare alert that has to land, add a phone call.
